An unusual Vishnu icon displaying his usual Conch and Discus in his upper hands, and his mace in his lower left hand, while his right lower hand in abhaya mudra (fear not). And he has a kirthimukhi on his pants. A rather large kirthimukhi is the suspended face hanging on the front of Vishnu’s pants.
This icon has received much worship as can be seen on the worn features of the casting.
The pedestal on which Vishnu stands is not very large. It is common to see such castings inserted into a larger base, often several tiers.
The metal used in this casting appears to be copper brightened with gold and/or silver.
Dimensions: 4.25″ H x 2.25″ W x 1.25″ D
Imtiyaz says that this is very rare for the Kirtimukhi to be on the garmet there is one other example that I have, but the image of the kirtimukhi is faint This is dated to the 17th century
