Panduranga, also known as Vittala or Vithoba is an incarnation of Krishna. He is beloved by the people of certain areas, primarily in Maharashtra, India. This particular murthi of Vittala has a darkened patina.  At some point in time his nose was flattened by a fall or some other accident.
